Viva Las VegaStamps! DT Tryout

My Name is Andrea Mulkey
I love stamps and to make cards,  sometimes I think that I might enjoy buying new stamps more then I even do using them.. But thatis because it seems I spend soooooo much time organizing and resorting all my treasured finds.  Which I have to say has gotten a lot worse since I have discovered Viva Las Vegastamps!
Not that I am complaining at all I love them sooo much, I have bought at least 3 of the pounds of rubber grab bags and who knows how many other ones I picked out..  And even though I don't work for them at all ( yet) I have been promoting them like crazy to my friends and random strangers at scrapbook conventions.

I would say so far my style of stamping is pretty tame or traditional, especially with how my cards turn out, but I am starting to get into so new techniques and trying to learn how to use different mediums.

I got started stamping at a friends Stampin Up workshop. But then was addicted to all Stamps and as time goes by it seems like I am leaning more and more toward independent stamp companies, because I don't want to same thing as everyone else, the more unusual the more I like it. :)

Below are some of my very quick projects:

Tile Coasters

This doesn't have any stamps on the outside but is a card I did with paper crafting.

Some more coasters>

Some ATC's I did,, my first ever actually!

This was a new technique I tried using a medium and Extra thick embossing powder to make a  cracked glass effect over my stamped image.  I used some bead glitter and a brad to embellish it.

I would LOVE to be on the Viva Las Vegastamps Design Team, Because I love your stamps and would love the chance to be challenged with other projects as well>  Now it seems like I just head back to my craft area when I need a new card, and it would be great to have something I HAD to get done and have a regular schedule of creativeness

Thinking of you card.

Well I did a little cardmaking tonight.  Just a quick card for a friend who's Father passed away.  But have been so busy and not gotten too.  Really happy with how it turned out the stamp and the die is stampin up and the Embossing Folder is Cuttle Bug I believe.. Will update later with exact details.

I do things in a big way.

Well whether it be Stamps, Shoes , Clothes , or Tea,  I tend to do things in a big way.
My mom jokes me that I get them started on the neatest things, but boy when I get into something I do it BIG!  Well when I started drinking tea it started small ... Famous last words, it is crazy but tea got me over my Dr Pepper addiction.  My latest order came today.  I joke with my friend that if ever I meet a sweet tea loving man I have a huge dowry.  And even thought, hmmm who needs a flower bouquet when tea smells so good, just make it out of tea and instead of tossing it to the single gals we  toss in the kettle and Ahhhh ,, Relax and sip away.

Why you ask are you rambling on about tea,, this is supposed to be a craft blog,,, Well girls nothing better then sipping tea while your stamping,, And in answer to what most my friends ask me,, NO I don't work for Teavana and no they don't give me anything for sending them all this business.. Just love the tea./

I had to share the pics of what made my day so bright today.

Well this is a quick card I threw together,  I will add the details on size, stamps and supplies soon..

Tile Coasters

So this is one of my Favorite little gifts to whip up.  I take a Tumbled Marble Tile from the tile store or Home Depot.
I use Stazon and have kinda mixed results, but I have yet to try spraying a sealer coat on.  But the one I did with Color Box ink and put in oven for a bit did pretty good.. And even with out any sealer or heat setting they hold up pretty well under normal use. (at my house the get a lot of use,,, And after a few month the Design fades,,, But that is without sealer or Heat setting)

But for the ones with color I use fine point sharpies.
I finish up with a pretty think cork, it comes on a roll and I love the kind that already has the adhesive on it, you just peel back the paper and stick it and your ready to go,,
I know some people just put the cork on the corners, But I really like to do the whole bottom of the coaster, leaving about a 1/4 Border.
